With one of the world’s largest nickel resources, PT Sulawesi Cahaya Mineral (SCM) is rapidly growing, integrated with downstream-nickel industry. PT SCM plans to fill the VP Geoscience position who will report to President Director/CEO of PT SCM. The VP Geoscience is accountable for identification of growth opportunities, establishment and management of the exploration programs, discovery and development of mineral resources, and providing supports to reserves estimation and extraction.

Job Description:

• Identify strategic opportunities of potential interest aimed at growing SCM and increasing value for its shareholders.
• Oversee the exploration activities and resource definition programs for SCM’s current and future projects.
• Proactively engage with external consultants and research community to identify and evaluate alternative and emerging methods which may positively impact SCM operations.
• Maintain oversight of orebody reconciliation and performance across the SCM Group.
• Accountable for geometallurgical processes, programs and models for projects and operations.
• Accountable for the Geological Information Systems across all SCM sites to provide remote user access to central data stores with robust data security and redundancy.
• Accountable for best practice QAQC processes and practices in SCM operations.
• Develop and maintain robust working relationships with suppliers of analytical services to SCM, both within Indonesia and internationally.
• Proactively manage team members and external providers to ensure delivery of agreed outcomes.
• Assist with development of budgets including the monitoring and reporting actual performance against budgets and forecasts.

Requirement:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Geology or Earth Science, Post graduate qualification in a technical discipline, mineral economics or mineral exploration preferred.
• Minimum 20 years of relevant industry experience. Must have held roles at a similar level in a business focused on nickel exploration/mining.
• At least 5 years in a similar senior or executive level position required and also have operational experience as a Manager in an operating nickel project.
• Direct experience managing large exploration/geoscience budgets is required.
• Direct experience with mineral resource modelling and estimation in nickel is required.
• Registered Competent Person Indonesia (CPI) as defined in KCMI for laterite nickel mineralization preferred.
