Sustainability Manager

The position is under PT. Sumbawa Timur Mining and set to be permanent employee. The successful candidate will work on Head Office, Jakarta.

Purpose of the Role :

Plan, organize, direct, control and coordinate environmental, environmental impact assessment and forestry projects and studies for the Hu’u Project. Support the delivery of plans agreed by senior management to ensure that strategic goals and objectives are met, securing and improving the corporate responsibility and performance on the environment and on sustainable. Oversee the implementation of environmental and social baseline and impact assessment studies and liaise with engineering teams to address environmental/social risk, issues and opportunities. 

Accountabilities :

  • Provide operational support, research and advice to senior management on matters such as the provision of environmental, sustainability and forestry related policies. 
  • Support STM’s field operations by introducing initiatives and practices that will increase the company’s level of resource optimization.  
  • Plan, direct and coordinate the environmental and forestry operations in accordance with legislative requirements and ensure that regulatory reporting obligations are met. 
  • Oversee environmental and social baseline studies which cover the terrestrial, freshwater and marine environments.  
  • Represent STM (and Vale) at public forums related to Hu’u Project operations and development to address concerns, risks and opportunities.  
  • Appoint consultants and technical experts in relevant fields to support STM in addressing environmental and social risks, issues and opportunities.  

Requirements :

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in environmental science, environmental management, environmental engineering, public affairs or a related discipline with 3.0 GPA from a possible 4.0 total GPA;
  • Minimum over 15 years of experience – preferably in mining exploration project or oil & gas industry;

Senior Porphyry Geologist 

The position is a twelve-months contract under outsourcing company. The successful candidate will work on 4/2 FIFO roster at Hu’u Project site, in Dompu, West Nusa Tenggara.

Purpose of the Role :

  • Responsible for coordinate and execute geological mapping and geological logging.
  • Responsible for evaluating, analyze and validate exploration results, review the database and interpret 2D and 3D geological data from both surface and sub-surface, including lithological, alteration, structural, chemical, density, rock competency and mineralogical analysis.  
  • Responsible for generating drilling targets within Onto and in other favorable areas of the CoW.
  • Responsible for developing geometallurgical studies liaising with other technical staff and consultants. 
  • Generate geometallurgical models integrated with geological model. 

Accountabilities :

  • Undertake field work and data collection at the core shed and by the drill rig machines. 
  • Assist in training and mentoring other geologist to achieve best technical practice 
  • Assists as part of a team in the planning and implementation of geological activities. 
  • Provides technical leadership to staff/contractors related to the geology of the deposit. 
  • Evaluates and interprets geological data of existing and potential sites. 
  • Ensure procedures and standards to be used by core shed technicians, such as sampling, assays, logging and QA/QC programs are following company and industry best practice. 
  • Generate 2D litho/structural models and mineralization or ore controls as required for modelling and resource estimation. 
  • Import required (geological, hydrogeological, geotechnical, drilling) information into the relevant geological database. 

Requirements :

  • Worked in mine or a feasibility study of a porphyry and epithermal systems of the Sunda-Banda arc, Indonesia. 
  • Good detailed logging and data integration skill, such as petrography, spectral data and assays.
  • Knowledge on geometallurgical matter and Iogas application.

Senior Community Relations Analyst

Purpose of the Role :

The objectives of the Senior Community Relations Analyst role are to develops strategy and programs designed to represent a company favorably, and make positive contributions to the community and act as a mentor to junior community relations staff to assist their professional development and ensure they are aligned with strategic initiatives.

Accountabilities :

  • Liaise with communities, traditional leaders, local authorities, NGOs, INGOs, and other relevantstakeholders to gather information that will support Hu'u Project using interviews, meetings, communitymapping and other participatory approaches.
  • Ensure that community engagement, socialization and consultation activities occur in accordance withproject plans and strategies.
  • Ensure that all reports are completed to a high standard and that all data is accurate and well-presented.
  • Manage the implementation of all community relations plans, procedures and reporting (e.g. grievancemechanisms, etc.)

Project Cost Control Analyst

The position is a twelve-months contract under outsourcing company. The successful candidate will work on 4/2 FIFO roster at Hu’u Project site, in Dompu, West Nusa Tenggara.

Purpose of the Role :

  • Provide critical assessment of all budgets, cost projections, and project critical path. 
  • Assess all incoming products, resources, and services to ensure the best price. 
  • Analyze invoices to ensure correct products/services were received at the expected cost.

Requirements :

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in relevant study with 3.0 GPA from a possible 4.0 total GPA;
  • Minimum 7 years of experience – preferably in mining exploration project or oil & gas industry;

Principal Environment Advisor 

The position is a twelve-months contract under outsourcing company. The successful candidate will work on head office, Jakarta.

Purpose of the Role :

  • Lead PT STM’s environmental department which oversees core activities in the fields of environmental monitoring, environmental baseline studies, environmental impact assessments, environmental support to field operations and sustainability initiatives and programs. 
  • Develop and manage annual environmental management plans and budgets (including the preparation of environmental baseline and impact assessment study plans and budgets).  

Accountabilities :

  • Develop/establish and implement environmental management systems at STM work sites and ensure that practical environmental controls are tracked, implemented, appropriately recorded, and reported to improve the environmental performance of the Company and reduce environmental risks.  
  • Utilize strong leadership, organizational and technical skills to manage and communicate compliance risks and, if required and once approved, to Indonesian regulatory authorities to ensure environmental compliance. 

Requirements :

  • Bachelor’s Degree (S1) in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related fields with a minimum of 15 years of experience in environmental aspects of the mining industry or a Master’s Degree (S2) with a minimum of 10 years of experience in the mining industry. 
  • AMDAL Team Leader or Member certification or at least 5 years of experience in conducting, managing, and overseeing AMDALs for the mining industry.
  • Minimum of 5 years of management and field-supervisory experience in a metal mining company, with emphasis in regulatory compliance and permitting.  
  • Possess a minimum of 10 years of experience in managing environmental consultants in support of project permitting.

Field Geotech Engineer

The position is a twelve-months contract under outsourcing company. The successful candidate will work on 4/2 FIFO roster at Hu’u Project site, in Dompu, West Nusa Tenggara.

Purpose of the Role :

  • Conduct Field Assessment on slope stability, routine monitoring and inspection, etc.
  • Provide recommendation for any potential geotechnical hazard.
  • Develop Field Geotechnical Monitoring and program.

Accountabilities :

  • Responsible to do routine inspection on drill site location, construction (road, disposal, pond, etc) related to all potential geotechnical hazard.
  • Provide planning and controlling support for all projects which includes variation reporting, monitoring of milestone progress.
  • Perform and manage project activity scheduling and monitoring.
  • Perform technical tenders (subcontractor’s quotations) for the preparation of Service agreements related to geotechnical issue.

Forestry Administration

Purpose of the Role :

The objectives of the Forestry Administration role is to assist the forestry principal advisor and forestry staff in the administration of forestry permitting and fulfillment of forestry compliance obligations. 

Accountabilities :

  • In conjunction with the Principal Forestry Advisor, optimise STM’s current Forestry Administration / Management system. 
  • Ensuring that all reporting and forestry compliance obligations both for mineral and geothermal borrow to use permits are prepared properly and submit within required time frames.  
  • Ensuring wood administration complies with forestry timber management obligations. 
  • Collecting and processing data on affected trees monthly. 
  • Coordinate with tree cutting contractor regarding recording affected trees. 
  • Verifying online book measurement to define classifications of affected trees. 
  • Inputting tree data collected during timber cruising and auditing of impacted trees into the data base. 
  • Ordering, scanning, and printing tree barcodes. 

Requirements :

  • University qualifications in environmental science, forestry, environmental management or a related discipline; 
  • Current or past certification as a GANIS-accredited forestry professional; 
  • Minimum of 3 years of forestry administration experience in a mining company, with emphasis in regulatory compliance and permitting.

  • Coordinate and work with the project management team and contractor to resolve project issues to ensure the delivery/completion of the project work.

EXIM & Inventory Assistant

The position is a twelve-months contract under outsourcing company. The successful candidate will work on 4/2 FIFO roster at Hu’u Project site, in Dompu, West Nusa Tenggara.

Purpose of the Role :

  • Responsible for all export-import activities 
  • Responsible for inventory control in the warehouse 
  • Database Compile and Archiving 

Accountabilities :

  • Communicate with procurement & other departments to expedite Export-Import (EXIM) process.
  • Communicate with procurement regarding PO & monitor PO delivery by the vendor.
  • Communicate with other departments ie. Finance by sharing the Export-Import (EXIM) duty and planning schedule. 
  • Prepare and check export-import documents such as Shipping Instruction B / L, Invoice Packing List, PIB Packing List, PEB Packing List & etc. 
  • Arrange Export-Import (EXIM) shipment by contacting and communicating with the freight forwarder company.

Environment Permitting Analyst

Purpose of the Role :

Environment Permitting/approval Specialist is the important role for Company especially Mining company. Provide environment document, requirement, and related report internally and to external (government request). This important role is to ensure the environment approval/permit in place before conducting activity/change of activity related to the mining activity and its supporting activity. Thus the activity will develop and revision of document have to be prepare in place previously.

Accountabilities :

Environment Document preparation, Environment approval proposal, monitoring the environment approval, work together with exploration (Mining and Geothermal) to define the change of activity, work together with environment team under OHSE department to generate the implementation and requirement, knowledge of environment regulation by certification of basic AMDAL.

Requirements :

  • 5-7 years of relevant experience.
  • Minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Earth Science and/or Environment Science and/or Social Science.
  • Professional Certification of Basic AMDAL.
  • GIS Certification, Training Program in Reporting Certification.
  •  Knowledge of UKL-UPL, AMDAL and other Environmental compliance requirements. 
  • Extensive knowledge of the Indonesian Regulations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and/or competency in environment compliant.
