We are seeking experienced people for the following positions:

 

Senior Geologist (926658)

(Balikpapan)

In this role you will:

  • Support current and future projects through a range of activities related to geological risk and opportunity, resource estimation and reconciliation
  • In-situ to ROM Calculations, determination of resource and reserve risk, reliability and integrity
  • Mining methods and selectivity of coal and provide pit limit area based on stripping ratio
  • Due diligence on geological models and provide the scientific explanations and data to support contract claims for coal or other commodities
  • Provide plan and schedule for geological mapping, quality sampling, as required
  • Interpretation of geophysical logs, seam correlation as required
  • Ensure early advice and recommendations to operations and the Business Development Team on areas of cost, risk and opportunity
  • Ensure Contract Specifications for all sites
  • Support and service for new projects and tenders
  • Maintain and update procedures for geological data collection (eg: mapping, sampling and JSEA)
  • Provide qualitative and quantitative data of the reserve and manipulate reserves to account for mining practices
  • Liaise with client on preparation of working model & ensure relevant new pit data are incorporated into the next working model
  • Review and evaluate reconciliation reports and recoverable reserve status of quantity and quality, validate models supplied by the client, report on model variances
  • Prepare geological models/data as required and actively communicate unexpected occurrences of faults, partings, pinch and swell, and similar geological disturbances
  • Provide lithology data that we have and provide information of stratigraphy and structure data
  • Liaison with client and consultant geologists
  • Conduct Stratmodel training, coal quality and properties, sampling theory and facilitate knowledge sharing throughout project sites
  • Liaise with Training and HR to develop Succession Plan for department and training of personnel
  • Build strong relationships with head office and project technical and operations staff
  • Participate in formal, individual and team development program

What skills and experience do you need?

  • Degree qualifications in a relevant discipline - Geology
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience as a professional geologist in the mining industrial area both coal and ores
  • High level of proficiency in MS Office and MineScape / Vulcan / other mining software
  • Strong knowledge of Geology and Geological modelling
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for both oral and written in English/Bahasa
  • An awareness of mine operation regulatory requirements
  • Strong experience in Mine methodology, technology and design concepts
  • Have been exposure in various commodities i.e. gold, nickel, iron ore, coal, etc

 

Deputy Project Manager (926663)

(GBU Coal Mine Project)

In this role you will:

  • Assist the Project Manager to plan, lead, organise and control project resources, in human and equipment capital terms, to meet both client and TCI targets in a safe and cost-effective manner.
  • Co-ordinate establishment, monitoring and update of all project plans, budget, program resource requirements to ensure delivery of the project on time and to budget;
  • Manage site budgets; Meet budget productivity and utilisation rates;
  • Meet, as a minimum, overburden and coal mining targets in accordance with internally generated mine plans;
  • Constantly achieve, and exceed, benchmark KPI's in terms of equipment performance, cost control, coal recovery and overall production targets;
  • Responsible for the timely and accurate completion of monthly financial reporting;
  • Maximise profitability to satisfy or exceed financial goals of the project; identify areas for operational efficiency and deliver on commitments;
  • Actively investigate enhancement to procedures and process that achieve Improvements in performance, job satisfaction, and productivity;
  • Provide effective and ethical leadership which is innovative to the extent it needs to be to meet changing and challenging conditions;
  • Establish and maintain a harmonious client relationship to assist project delivery and enhance client satisfaction;
  • Manage relationship with subcontractors to ensure a high level of performance in terms of time, cost and quality;
  • Maintain good relations with community figure heads.

What skills and experience do you need?

  • Tertiary qualification (degree) in Mine Engineering, Survey or related mining discipline - essential; must have 5 years experiences as a Deputy Project Manager Mining experience with stable employment background with a minimum of 10 years professional experience in large open cut coal mining operation of which at least two or three years in production/ service supervision/ management role.

  • Have experience at mine planning, subcontract management, cost management and managing staff; Comprehensive knowledge of engineering and construction / mining management principles and practices and the associated flow of design and construction / mining project management, Tendering process,Financial concepts; Hold POU certificate of Mine Energy Department is desirable; OHS&E requirements Legislative and statutory requirements
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills; good in coaching/mentoring and negotiation/mediation; good analytical; conflict resolution; sound decision making skills; excellent communication skills in English both verbal and written and computer literate.

 

Superintendent Plant - Aux & Medium Truck (926629)

(GBU Coal Mine Project)

In this role you will:

  • To ensure that the Maintenance Department goals are achieved MA>90 %, MTBS>60 hours Zero LTI, by following the procedures which are set up in TGS.
  • Communication and reporting. Ensure maximum communication levels are maintained between workshop and operations personnel regarding breakdowns safety issues and prioritizing of the equipment repairs.
  • Ensure that all Supervisors to complete accurately the daily breakdown report, Supervisor Shift report, mechanical inspection complete with the part required to address all known work, breakdown and planned Maintenance are submitted to Planning and Admin every day. Ensure that all Supervisors complete the accurate breakdown hours and repair information.
  • Ensure that daily maintenance schedule and refueling are carried out in safe and monitored.
  • Review tyre report that needs to be controlled properly.
  • Analysis of component condition and recommendation of parts required. Ensure that the correct procedures are used when breakdowns and failures troubleshooting.
  • Planning and Coordination of shutdown work in cooperation with Planning Department. Ensure all repairs are carried out in and effective cost and timely manner.
  • Investigation and reporting of all incidents damaged to all equipment in the field and associated area, this is included for the operator abuse.
  • Ensure a safe working environment for all employees by ensuring all activities are carried out according to the work procedures in the TMS and GBU Project Management Plan.
  • Ensure that there is no impact for the environment from the activities that are carried out to operate and repair equipment by ensuring the procedures in the TMS and GBU Management Plan are in place.
  • Ensure that all maintenance tasks are carried out in safe, timely and cost effective manner.

What skills and experience do you need?

  • Minimum Maintenance Trade/ Engineering Degree level qualifications.
  • Minimum of 8 years' experience in large open cut mining operation of which at least one or 3 years in Mechanical repair/service supervision/ management role.
  • Be able to communicate well, be able to disciple people

  • People handling skill diagnostic skills in all aspects of mechanical repairs

Senior Supervisor Auto Electric (926633)

Some of your duties will include:

  • To apply Thiess Governance System and plant procedures within the work force in relation to safety/environment, maintenance planning, recording/registering, quality of workmanship, leadership & organize of workshop personnel.
  • To plan and coordinate the shutdown, repair and service of equipment according to TGS Plant Department policies and procedures to ensure availability targets and budget are achieved.
  • Lead, organize and provide direction for employees to ensure outstanding performance is achieved in people performance, HSE&Q outcomes and the business results.
  • Plan and co-ordinate an effective repair and service of equipment to achieve department goal by availability 90%, MTBS 60 hours and MTTR 6 hours.
  • Reduce unnecessary expenditure and costs in order to achieve maximum efficiency and profitability in all areas within the Plant Department.
  • Ensure cost effective by reduce the down time and rework.
  • Give support to your direct reports, in counselling and disciplinary matters
  • Acknowledge and encourage good performance and loyalty to the company
  • Resolve personal issues relating to the field and workshop crews

What skills and experience do you need?

  • Minimum Senior High School / Technical High School
  • Minimum 5 years in Electrical Supervision

Some of your duties will include:

  • To ensure that the maintenance department goals are achieved, by following the procedures set out in the Thiess Governance System (TGS)
  • Communication and reporting. Ensure maximum communication levels are maintained between workshop and operations personnel regarding breakdowns safety issues, and prioritizing of equipment repairs.
  • Ensure that all area supervisors accurately complete daily breakdown reports, supervisors shift report, PCR's for submission the planning and administration before 8am every day. Ensure accurate breakdown hours information is provided
  • Analysis of component condition and recommendation of parts required. Ensure correct procedures used when troubleshooting breakdowns and failures
  • Review operator's checklist summary and mechanical inspection sheets, ensure submission to planning department with repair and parts recommendation. Ensure supervisors and mechanic raise recommended parts lists accurately to address all known work, breakdowns, and planned maintenance
  • Planning and co-ordination of shut down work in cooperation with planning department. Ensure all repairs are carried out in a cost effective and timely manner
  • Investigation and reporting of all accident damage to all equipment in the field and associated area, this includes operator abuse
  • Ensure a safe working environment for all employee by ensure all activities are carry out according to the work procedures in the TGS and the project management plan
  • Ensure that there is no impact on the environment from the activities that are carried out to operate and repair equipment by ensuring that the procedures in the TGS and Site Management plan are followed
  • Ensure that all maintenance tasks are carried out in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner.

What skills and experience do you need?

  • Mechanical Engineer or Ex Apprentice
  • Minimum 10 years industry mining maintenance experience.
  • People handling skill diagnostic skills in all aspects of mechanical repairs.
  • Mechanic experience on Thiess equipment e.g. Cat, Komatsu, Hitachi and Liebherr, Coal hauling and lifting equipment.
  • Knowledge of welding procedures
  • IT Literacy
