Commodity Trading Manager

Location: Jakarta

As a committed professional with relevant commodity trading experience, you will have well developed trading skills plus the personal attributes to fulfil the requirements of the role.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Trading

• Growing our Trading Business unit (especially in coal, nickel and other commodities trading) with well-defined performance targets in terms of growth and profitability
• Keeping a tab on latest development in the commodity markets and identifying trading growth opportunities for the company
• Identify new sales and marketing opportunities for new commodity and channel partners
• Forging alliances and working out agreements with various channels to expand our product and service offerings
• Follow up with local suppliers and customers on each specific commodity trading deal
• Handle local trading operations - mine, logistics, shipping, documents preparation, etc.
• Work with Head of Trading to ensure that we deliver of the performance targets committed to our senior management.

Investments

• Working in and influencing alignment within a multidisciplinary project team (legal, financial and economic)
• Identifying critical commodity price related risks and issues within existing and new investments
• Providing advice and support to the Company's asset operating teams on trading strategies

REQUIREMENTS:

• Proven Experience in building and expanding commodity trading units, preferably in coal, nickel and other minerals (min 8 years).
• Track record of successful trading business within Indonesia
• Strong sales and marketing skills
• Ability to network and forge alliances
• Willing to travel extensively, inspecting mine, logistics, shipping, etc.
• Sharp industry insights and a go-getter attitude
• Should be flexible and respond quickly as per business requirement
• Relevant University degree
• Exposure to both Indonesian and international companies and projects preferred
• Ability to work in teams
• Able to work independently
• High degree of computer literacy
• High degree of professional ethics and integrity
• Sound lobbying capabilities

• Organised with good planning skills
