PT Agincourt Resources part of the PT Astra International Tbk group

Martabe Gold Mine is managed and operated by PT Agincourt Resources. The mine covers an area of 30 km2 that falls under the sixth generation of Contract of Work (CoW) covering a total area of 1.303 km2.

The resource based on 31 December 2018 includes 8.1 Moz of Gold and 69 Moz of Silver, with economic ore reserves of 4.5Moz gold and 34Moz silver. Production commenced at Martabe on 24 July 2012. The operating capacity of Martabe Gold Mine is 5.9Mtpa ore to produce in excess of 350,000 oz of Gold and 2-3 Moz of Silver per annum.

PT Agincourt Resources engages approximately 2,600 employees and contractors which more than 70 % have been recruited from South Tapanuli and other regions in North Sumatra.

PT Danusa Tambang Nusantara (PTDTN) is the majority shareholder of PT Agincourt Resources with a total 95% of the shareholding. The shareholders of PTDTN are PT United Tractors Tbk 60% and PT Pamapersada Nusantara 40%. These companies are part of the PT Astra International Tbk group. The 5% share ownership is owned by the Government of South Tapanuli Regency and North Sumatra Province (local governments). 

To strengthen the existing maintenance management team and to ensure the achievement of the company objectives, the Martabe Gold Mine is looking for candidate to fill the role:

 

SUPERINTENDENT – GOVERNMENT RELATIONS & PERMITTING

(GR 2008024)

This position will be based at Martabe Site in Permitting & Government Relations Department, working on schedule 4 Weeks on; 2 weeks off and reports directly to Manager Government Relations & Project Compliances.

The role of the Superintendent – Government Relations and Permitting is to support Manager to develop and implement Strategies in line with Corporate Directives and Objectives to obtain and maintain all necessary development and operations permits and conformances in line with prevailing Indonesian Regulations within Martabe site based organization.

To develop and maintain professional relationships with Central and regional Governments as well as other related stakeholders.  This position will report to Manager Government Relations and Project Compliances within Martabe site based organization, under development and implement the strategies of Government Relations & Permitting Department in Martabe site.

This position also has to cooperate closely with a team of professional staff and consultants both in Jakarta and on Site, develop the team and maintain good communication in internal department related.

Candidates for this role would be expected to have the following qualifications and experience:

  1. University degree, open for technical backgrounds such mining, environmental, geology or social sciences.
  2. Minimum 10 years of experience in mining industry or related with good communication skill both Indonesian and English.
  3. Knowledge and competent in permitting process of mining operations, and related applicable regulations in Republic of Indonesia.
  4. Experience in working with multinational company’s operation and have good understanding about mining company is a value added.
  5. Strong negotiation, analytical and conceptual skills.
  6. Have knowledge and awareness in costing management and control in department.
  7. Passionate to build and maintain harmonic relationship with the Government and the stakeholders related.
  8. Persistence to follow up to meet the target, and manage the permitting (approval) process.
  9. Prefer if know well local language (Batak Angkola).
  10. Encourage Female to apply but not essential depend on related experiences and knowledge

 

SUPERINTENDENT – STAKEHOLDER RELATIONS

(SR 2008025)

This position will be based at Martabe Site in Stakeholder Relations Department, working on schedule 4 Weeks on; 2 weeks off and reports directly to Stakeholder Relations Manager.

The role of the Superintendent Stakeholder Relations is to establish a positive relationship with external key stakeholders to obtain support for PTAR’s mining operation. This position will creates and maintain robust communication with key stakeholders and achieve appropriate management of their expectations and objectives.  Also will conduct research, plan, and coordinating stakeholder engagement activities along with regular reporting and stakeholder data base management.

  • Build, establish and maintain good, professional relationships with members of Province and Regency Parliament, with additional relationship with members of Central Parliament as necessary. 
  • Develop political maps that assist understanding of the situation in the South, Central and North Tapanuli Regency and North Sumatra Province that could have impacts on PT AR operations.
  • Implement reciprocal persuasive communication to members of Province and Regency Parliament. Approach and dialogue to Member of Parliament, activists, students and NGO and sharing about Martabe Gold Mine operation and exploration.
  • Responsible to build and implement strategies to anticipate important issues related to good mining practice, community empowerment and nature conservation that could affect the company.
  • Responsible for managing and implementing MOUs with universities, conservation groups and experts.
  • Liaison, lobby or handle specific issues with Local Owned Company (BUMD), State Owned Company (BUMN) and other private sector in North Sumatra Province as required.

Candidates for this role would be expected to have the following qualifications and experience:

  1. Bachelor degree in any studies preferably in politics, law, communication, management, sociology, environmental, administration, economics, culture or forestry.
  2. Minimum 10 years in external relations or stakeholder relations.
  3. Having experience in mining industry is preferable
  4. Experience and proven record in network establishment with stakeholders
  5. Excellent strategic, leadership, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.
  6. Is aware of and understands the cultural sensitivities of indigenous local people.
  7. Ability to evaluate and improvement of stakeholders relationship
  8. Proven management experience in stakeholder relations programs over a period of time
  9. Excellence communication skills in spoken and written in both English and Bahasa Indonesia
  10. Self-directed to achieve individual, team and organizational goals.
  11. Steward of a team-based culture – motivates others to achieve their targets and work collaboratively.
  12. Good and strong personality, friendly and professional
