JUNIOR MINE ENGINEER (Job Code : JME/VIII/20)

(Location: Toka Tindung Site)

The primary role of the Junior Mine Engineer now is focus in Drill and Blasting Team at Mine Department. It will be to work in conjunction with the short term planning engineer to ensure that the mining and drill and blast activities of the mining contractors are in accordance with the mine plan. The Junior Mine Engineer is to take primary direction from the senior drill & blast engineer to ensure daily mining and drill and blast plans are achieved.

DUTIES :

  • Responsible for designing and produce drilling pattern, charging sheet, blast tie-up plan, and explosive request and implementing as designed
  • Responsible for record of daily explosive issue, maintain explosive stock and explosive purchase
  • Responsible for looking after Magazine area and its administration
  • Responsible for recording actual drill hole depth, measuring wet/dry blast hole and reconcile with plan
  • Communicate the drilling and blasting plan at the daily contractor meetings.
  • Ensure that the contractor supervisors have current drill plans and  tie-up plans on each drilling and blasting location.
  • Field/bench inspection in each step of drill and blast process to ensure contractors compliance with drill and blast plans and meet safety, quality and productivity target.
  • Manage an electronic filing system and hard copy for drill and blast data and design.

REQUIREMENTS :

  1. Formal mine engineering qualifications and 1 to 3 years of directly related drilling and blasting activities preferably hard rock mine;
  2. Certified of second class blasting course (KJL II);
  3. Able to operate mining and blasting related software( Surpac, Shotplus);
  4. Fluent in English verbal and written;
  5. Possess valid Driving License (SIM A);
  6. Understand explosives management and regulation;
  7. Able to demonstrate the awareness of corporate safety & environmental.

 

DRILL & BLASTING SUPERVISOR (Job Code : DBS/VIII/20)

(Location: Toka Tindung Site)

The primary role of the Drill & Blast Supervisor will be to coordinate and manage drilling and blasting operational including contractors at Toka Tindung site. A key role in ensuring drilling and blasting operations are conducted in a safe and productive work place, ensuring mine plans are achieved, that well fragmented broken stocks are available in a timely manner for the mining fleet.  Effective and efficient use of contractors drill fleet, resources and equipment.

DUTIES :

  • Ensure that the Interface Mining Procedure is strictly adhered to, and that no work can start close to a crest when there is potential to cause harm to personnel or machinery working below.
  • Ensure that the Drill and Blast Clean-Up form is completed before any works can commence on a drill pattern
  • Support the contractors Drill Supervisor, Blast Supervisor and D&B Engineering roles to ensure timely deliverables and to cover in times of rostered breaks.
  • Ensure the Safe and cost effective use and utilisation of contractor equipment
  • Explosive Magazine inspection on regular basis.
  • Explosive management (inventory and performance)
  • Detailed understanding of compliance with all regulation, standards and procedures.
  • Provide job specific instructions on daily basis and monitor progress to the leadership team and crews.
  • Prepare reports on accident/incident that happen during the shift
  • Responsible to ensure proper use and maintenance of personal protective equipment
  • Maintain a duty of care to their teams – taking responsibility for the safety of their crew
  • Assist in work scheduling and planning with the short term Mine Schedules that are developed.
  • Development of succession plans for all key people team leaders and production roles
  • Perform clear and effective communication between drilling contractor, blasting contractor and survey mark out team, and Drill & Blast engineering.
  • Responsible for the hand-over of all details and information to incoming shift
  • Responsible for sleep blast field preparation and requirement.

REQUIREMENTS :

  1. Minimum 5 years of hands on experience in drilling & blasting operation;
  2. Preferable certified in second class blasting course or Safe and efficient blasting course;
  3. Understand safe and efficient blasting practice, explosive regulation and environmental impacts;
  4. Able to operate basic computer program;
  5. Fluent in English verbal and written;
  6. Possess valid Driving License (SIM A);
  7. Able to demonstrate the awareness of corporate safety & environmental.

 

TSF SUPERINTENDENT (Job Code : TS/VIII/20)

(Location: Toka Tindung Site)

Responsible for assisting the Technical Services Manager in the Life of Mine (LOM) Tails Management Strategy and all conceptual, basic and initial detailed engineering designs and technical requirements related to construction of the company’s Tailing Management Facilities (TSFs). 

DUTIES :

Permitting

  • The position key responsibility is to progress and obtain the design and construction permit in consultation with the key external design consultants.
  • Liaison between consultants are essential in progressing the tasks necessary for the obtainment of the necessary permits
  • The discharge permits currently are coordinated through the ESDM and MSM permitting departments, the position has a role of providing the necessary information to obtain these permits.
  • Schedule
  • The position requires the maintenance of the TSF schedule that ensures all necessary lifting requirements of the TSF, ensuring equipment and manning resource levels are such that any lack of resources do not impact of the maintaining of adequate freeboard and storage level requirements.

Reporting

  • The position is responsible for the generation of daily/ weekly and monthly and Life of mine options for tails storage capacity.
  • The production of these reports in line with the various production deadlines is essential.

Statutory reporting

  • Maintain the essential communication requirements in regards to the TSF operations and management.  Maintenance of all photo logs, borehole measurements and V-Notch weir, flow rates measured for coordination and reporting. Including all water analysis results in regards to maintaining operations of the TSF.
  • The facilitation of annual external 3rd party review and documentation signoff to ensure all international and domestic design standards are maintained.  (Governance)
  • Maintaining a relationship with the Indonesian Dam safety commission.  This group is responsible for the issue of the design and construction permits
  • Coordination with the Process maintenance team who are responsible for the pumping and pipeline delivery of tailings to the TSF and the pumping of return water from the TSF to the process plant.  The management of the TSF water balance is critical to ensure that correct water levels are maintained on the dam and that the tailings is placed to bring the dam up at consistent levels around the dam.  The coordination of movements of pipelines, powerlines, return water pumps and pipelines are maintained.
  • Maintenance of photo logs and equipment logs and maintenance of all handover logs to ensure that full documentation control for compliances are available upon request.

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. A background with extensive practical experience in the mining and/or civil earthworks industry, experience in construction of large earthen Tailings storage dams. 
  2. Engineering qualifications (Civil or Mining). Degree and/or Diploma level.
  3. Must have 12 years’ or more experience within the industry. Practical management and supervision of TSF Dam constructions of at least 10 years.
  4. Experience with Indonesian mining and environmental compliance regulations preferred.
  5. Has an Indonesian Driver License (SIM A);
  6. Able to demonstrate the awareness of corporate safety & environmental guidelines.
