Junior Drilling Supervisor

JOB DESCRIPTION

1. Accountable for supervising onsite personnel during the implementation of the operational plans.
2. Ensure the safe performance of all operations and to report any accidents or incidents in accordance with CPGLI reporting guidelines
3. Perform all duties assigned or requested by the Senior Drilling Supervisor, assisting the Senior Drilling Supervisor to ensure that all operations are planned and executed in accordance with the HSE policies and procedures, whether COPI or contractor documents, in accordance with the presiding bridging document.
4. Attend pre-job safety meetings for all critical jobs and supporting the STOP cards by example while encouraging the safety to all onsite personnel.
5. Personally conduct regular safety and environmental audits of the offshore drilling facilities.
6. Ensure that the instructions of the Senior Drilling Supervisor are communicated to and understood by all affected personnel.
7. Ensure that operations are completed in accordance with approved procedures or as otherwise approved by the Senior Drilling Supervisor.
8. Track and record operational progress and prepare daily reports including DDR, cost, and safety.
9. Assist the Senior CPGL representative during any onsite emergencies; including well control events.
10. Assist the Senior Drilling Supervisor with operational logistics coordination
11. Read and become familiar with the all applicable CPGL HSE standards, policies and procedures.
12. Continuously look for ways to improve the efficiency of operations and communicate such recommendations verbally to the Senior Supervisor.
13. Work directly with the office engineer(s) to ensure thorough reporting of all activities and costs
14. Provide office based operational support as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required & Preferred Skills/Competencies

1. Technical excellence in all aspects of drilling, testing, completions, workover and HPHT operations.
2. Significant and recent exposure to critical onshore drilling operations.
3. Computer proficiency in word processing spread sheet and engineering application software – WellView drilling data management system.
4. Ability to review drilling operations performance and make recommendations to engineering and management on the adoption of new equipment or techniques to improve operations.

Desired Experience Level

1. Minimum of 12 years of industry experience in drilling operations

Special Skills, Training, & Certifications

• Must hold a valid IWCF or IADC well control certificate for Drilling Supervisor level in surface stack operations (minimum).

Education Required

• Bachelor or Technical Engineering Degree or lesser qualification with appropriate number of years experience as Drilling supervisor.

 

Senior Drilling Supervisor

JOB DESCRIPTION

1. Responsible for the safety and environmental awareness with all onshore company / contract staff such that operations are carried out in a safe and environmentally sound manner. Conduct safety and environmental audits on the onshore drilling facilities.
2. Provide supervision of all wellsite activities, ensuring that operational work plans are performed safely and continuously improved. Ensure work plans are communicated to and understood by all affected personnel.
3. Review and optimize drilling programs / procedures & therefore ensure successful and efficient implementation of the drilling program.
4. Exercise leadership and judgment in dealing with emergencies; and in particular, act as an expert resource in well control situations.
5. Ensure that equipment and procedures are in place to deal with emergencies and unexpected deviations from the well plan.
6. Ensure optimal deployment of wellsite resources and logistical support by planning ahead for likely operations and contingencies.
7. Ensure good communication between office, logistics base and rig.
8. Coordinate, supervise, and critique service company activities.
9. Continuously identify ways to reduce costs and improve DC&WO program effectiveness without sacrificing quality, production rates, or reserves.
10. Assist and communicate CPGL production operations as required.
11. Mentor and develop junior Indonesian drilling/completion engineers
12. Ensure that all in-country safety, regulatory, and environmental guidelines are followed.
13. Ensure that operational activities conform to the government regulation.
14. Ensure that all corporate policies and practices are maintained and adhered to.
15. Provide office based operational support as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required & Preferred Skills/Competencies

2. MPD experienced is preferable.

Senior Drilling Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION

1. Provide technical drilling expertise for Onshore Drilling Operations.
2. Ensure that development, appraisal, and exploration wells are drilled and completed in a safe, cost effective, and an environmentally responsible manner, adhering to all company core values, corporate requisites and policies, and in-country legislation.
3. Lead technical role for drilling program planning and preparation, including casing and cementing design, directional planning, drilling assembly, drilling procedures, etc. for various field developments.
4. Develop drilling strategies, operational plans and implementation of operations.
5. Provide input, expert opinion and assistance on all engineering and operational aspects of ongoing daily drilling activities as required.
6. Organize and implement project schedules, operational schedules, and forecasts.
7. Prepare drilling, completion, and workover cost estimates for AFEs and Budgets.
8. Assist in the preparation, evaluation and contract awards for support services and materials, including selection of the drilling rig. Administer contracts with outside suppliers of equipment and services.
9. Mentor national employees and assist in competency based training and assessment programs as required.
10. Support Project Development & Management guidelines in preparation of costs, AFEs and other FEL activities for candidate projects.
11. Review drilling operations and engineering performance and make recommendations to management on the adoption of new equipment, technologies or techniques to improve operational efficiency and cost effectiveness.
12. Ensure that the well plans are being followed and operational guidelines are being executed ensuring safety and environmental programs are being followed
13. The position is required to interface with operations, reservoir, projects, multiple contractors, and partners to optimize the drilling and completion operations and to ensure the efficient and cost effective implementation and the goals of the overall project are achieved.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required & Preferred Skills/Competencies

1. High level of competency in Onshore operations and Managed Pressure Drilling Techniques (preferred).
2. Competent in using drilling design software i.e. Well Plan, Compass, Torque & Drag, Hydraulics, etc.
3. Project management skills with previous experience in onshore and offshore development projects.
4. Standard skills: Uncompromising adherence to company core values. Good judgment and decision-making skills. Demonstrated ability to create an environment that encourages innovation and continuous improvement. Planning and organizing skills. Good interpersonal skills either one-on-one or in a group situation.
5. Excellent computer skills using WORD, EXCEL, POWERPOINT and MS Project.

Desired Experience Level

• Minimum 12 years prior experience in Drilling Engineering or Operations.
