MAINTENANCE ELECTRICIAN (AUTOELECTRICIAN)

PRIME JOB FUNCTION:
Plant electricians maintain the electronic equipment for industrial plants and Mining equipment. Usually they travel around the company’s sites performing routine maintenance on equipment, as well as troubleshooting electrical problems. Maintenance electrician is required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses and earmuffs, etc as their work can be dangerous.

DUTIES:

• Inspect, maintain repair and overhaul electromechanical and solid state
• Electrical equipment, using a variety of electrical test equipment, meters,
• Powered and non-powered tools and equipment.
• Install new electrical and electronic equipment and electrical wiring according
• to the OEMs electrical standards.
• Maintain and repair electrical and electronic systems for equipment.
• Provide technical support/skills for equipment troubleshooting and
• controls/equipment modifications.
• Support plant maintenance department with troubleshooting.
• Troubleshoots and repairs on various equipment.
• Be a self-starter and work independently.

Training/ Qualifications
Tertiary qualification

Knowledge/ Experience

• At least 5 years’ hands on experience in this field
• Mechanical knowledge of heavy earthmoving machinery
• Knowledge of General Office Equipment

 

MAINTENANCE MECHANIC

PRIME JOB FUNCTION:
Plant mechanics use computerised diagnostic equipment to test machines. If any faults are found they may be required to use equipment manuals, hand and power tools such as spanners, sockets, screwdrivers, drills, welding and cutting equipment and lifting gear.

Plant mechanics are required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses and earmuffs, as their work can be dangerous.

DUTIES:

• Daily equipment inspections.
• Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive
• maintenance.
• Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening
• for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
• Using diagnostic equipment to identify faults.
• Repairing faults in a timely manner.
• Disassembly and reassembling parts.
• Arranging for machinery to be moved (towed) to the repair workshop when the need
• arises
• Using hand and power tools and specialist equipment
• Your time will be split between a workshop and site.
• Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
• Filling in detailed service reports

Knowledge/ Experience

• At least 5 years’ hands on experience in mechanical engineering
• Mechanical knowledge of heavy earthmoving machinery
• Knowledge of General Office Equipment

 

MAINTENANCE TYRE FITTER

PRIME JOB FUNCTION:
As a heavy mining tyre fitter you will be responsible for performing maintenance, fitting and preparation of tyres to a range of highway and off highway vehicles. Undertake repairs and servicing to Arkan plant and equipment wheels and tyres.

DUTIES:

• Removing and replacing of tyres to all of Arkans fleet
• Diagnosing tyre damage and wear.
• Selecting and fitting correct tyres, tubes, rims and accessories.
• Monitoring tyre pressures.
• To jack and support equipment safely
• Carry out steering geometry checks to ensure equipment is within manufacturers

Tertiary qualification in this field

Knowledge/ Experience

• At least 5 years’ experience
• Mechanical knowledge of heavy earthmoving machinery
• Knowledge of mainframe and personal Computer

MAINTENANCE TYRE SUPERVISOR

PRIME JOB FUNCTION:
The role of the Maintenance Tyre Supervisor is to maintain plant and equipment wheel and tyre service and operation records and assist in the preparation of monthly Plant Report as well as prepare an updated tyre component life report for all Arkan heavy equipment and assist in auditing the system. This position also requires relieving tyre fitters as & when required.

DUTIES:

• Prepare monthly component life reports.
• Process and file site warranty claims.
• Liaise with OEMs to supply warranty parts.
• Prepare and make available reports on relevant maintenance statistics as will be called
• for e.g. statistical reports regarding equipment downtime, tyre usage / warranty and work order reports.
• Updating all relevant maintenance reports according to deadlines.
• Assist in the preparation of annual maintenance budgets.
• To cross-check & make sure all site work orders for maintenance are raised, closed and recorded in an accurate manner per Arkan standard.
• Carry out weekly and monthly SSS reports.
• Works with the production team to ensure haul roads and dump areas are kept in good operating condition at all times.

MAINTENANCE WELDER

PRIME JOB FUNCTION:
This is a skilled technical position in the fabrication and welding maintenance of a power generating facility. Work involves welding on process piping, structural steel, plant equipment and carbon steel and similar welds of an advanced nature. Work also includes the fabrication and layout of piping systems, structural steel, boiler repairs, and mechanical maintenance.

Maintenance Welder Fabricators are required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses and earmuffs, ect as their work can be dangerous.

DUTIES:

• To weld, cut, and perform major and minor fabrication on plant equipment
• To work in a inside and outdoor environment
• Communicate timely and effectively with maintenance Supervisor to keep them
• informed about major and minor problems.
• Visually inspect equipment daily.
• Keeps welding and torching equipment operating by following operating
• instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; by requesting supplies; performing
• preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
• Maintains safe work environment.
• Demonstrate knowledge and skills in safe rigging practices.
• To use oxy-acetylene flame cutting equipment correctly.
• Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind or bolt component parts to obtain
• required configurations and positions for welding.
• Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
