Lestari Banten Energi, an Independent Power Producer and a subsidiary of Genting Group, is developing a 1 x 660MW PLTU Banten power plant in Banten Province, Indonesia. In view of our significant and growing business operations in Indonesia, we seek to hire qualified candidates to fill the following positions to be based in Kelurahan Salira, Banten Province, with responsibilities and requirements as follows:
O&M - SHIFT CHARGE ENGINEER / SHIFT OPERATION LEADER
Responsibilities:
- Commercial:
- To operate the Power Plant in a safe manner within the given plant constraints, in accordance with the regulations and requirements of the Power Purchase Agreement.
- To operate the Power Plant in a prudent manner within the given plant constraints, in accordance with the regulations and requirements of the Regulatory Acts and Regulations.
- To ensure procedures are followed to allow effective management of the Power Purchase Agreement and Regulatory Acts and Regulations requirements.
- Execute proper communication and liaison with Load Dispatch Centre.
- Day to Day Operations:
- Acting as the Plant Manager’s authorised deputy outside normal office hours.
- Taking decisions and initiating action during non-routine events during the shift. Acting as the Emergency Controller during the initial stages of an incident/emergency.
- To play a leading role, both by example and encouragement, in promoting an effective safety culture and securing compliance with all company and legislative Health and Safety requirements.
- To ensure that all maintenance work is carried out in accordance with the company’s ’Safety from the System’ PTW system and acting as Control Person and carrying out other relevant duties as required.
- To give written permission for the application of any DCS Simulations in the absence of the Production Head and the Operation Manager.
- Liaison with Engineers and Technicians from other departments to ensure that the shift team obtains the necessary support and that its operations are co-ordinated with other works on the site. This includes prioritising plant defects.
- To work and assist during the outages and re-commissioning as directed by the Operations Manager.
- To be a part of the Outage and Re-commissioning Team during the out of shift duties period.
- Seeking and implementing opportunities to improve performance and reduce costs.
- Initiating changes and necessary additions to the plant procedures and work instructions.
- Personnel Management:
- Ensuring by the most cost-effective means, that an adequate shift team is available on all of his duty shifts.
- To manage any Operations Department Shift personnel related issues.
- To actively encourage staff to develop improvements for any operational process.
- Training and assessment of operations staff. The Shift Manager is responsible for ensuring that all personnel in his shift team are properly trained to carry out their allocated duties.
- Maintain a high safety and quality conscious working environment, and ensure compliance with all QHSE and legislative Health & Safety and Environmental requirements.
- Take reasonable care to protect own health and safety as well as that of others in the workplace,
- Participate in any safety initiatives and programs to ensure safety awareness among all staffs in line with Power Plant safety policies and guidelines.
- To promote an effective safety culture by complying with all company and legislative safety & health requirements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor degree from a recognized Indonesian or foreign university in Electrical / Instrumentation / Electronic Engineering with minimum 8 to 15 years’ experience in a Large Thermal Power Plant.
- Substantial knowledge of engineering practices, functions and processes involved in power plant operations.
- Good leadership skills proven in a multicultural environment.
- Knowledge of typical legislation associated with Power Plant operation.
- The ability to communicate effectively in English.
- A detailed knowledge of the ’Safety from the System’ procedures.
O&M - MAINTENANCE HEAD
The Maintenance Head (Mechanical) is responsible for the overall safe, reliable and effective management of Boiler and Turbine Sections. In addition, the incumbent is responsible for managing CBM & Ash Handling Section.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the maintenance activities within the scope of Mechanical Section (Boiler and Turbine) are executed in accordance to maintenance procedure and by the most cost efficient means.
- Oversee the activities within the scope of CBM & Ash Handling Section are executed in accordance to maintenance procedure and by the most cost efficient means.
- Assist Plant Manager to meet the contractual, technical and commercial target of the Power Plant.
- Ensure proper and effective maintenance considering O&M Contract, commercial aspects, safety, environment and legal requirements.
- Liaison with other Sections during coordination of maintenance activities, if applicable.
- Liaise with external parties to ensure maintenance activities are supported with the correct tools, equipment’s, resources and procedures.
- Ensure that the recurring and outstanding problems related to the plant systems or equipment’s are solved; in order to improve plant performance.
- Provide maintenance engineering supports, solutions and execution, in order to improve plant performance.
- Approve Work Instructions and Review Work Procedures.
- Ensure optimise spare parts and consumables holdings for the area of responsibility.
- Review technical specifications for external work supply and reviewing tenders.
- Review maintenance contracts for outsourcing services and resources.
- Ensure effective annual budget is developed for all Sections under the area of responsibility.
- Perform Performance Development Review (PDR), disciplinary matters and counselling.
- Prepare and adopt QHSE procedures when carrying out maintenance activities.
- Maintain a high safety and quality conscious working environment, and ensure compliance with all QHSE and legislative Health & Safety and Environmental requirements.
- Take reasonable care to protect own health and safety as well as that of others in the workplace.
- Participate in any safety initiatives and programs to ensure safety awareness among all staffs in line with Power Plant safety policies and guidelines.
Requirements:
- Bachelor degree from a recognized Indonesian or foreign in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 10 years’ experience in a Large Thermal Power Plant.
- Substantial knowledge of engineering practices, functions and processes involved in the operation of modern Power Stations.
- Good understanding on maintenance management concepts and practices.
- Able to identify and analyse faults and problems relating to the plant.
- Good knowledge on commercial processes and budgeting experience.
- Good leadership and decision making skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Have sufficient knowledge on Health, Safety and Environmental legislation.
- Have sufficient knowledge on typical legislation associated with Power Plant Operations.
- Have sufficient knowledge on risk management techniques.
O&M - BOILER MAINTENANCE MANAGER
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that the maintenance activities within the scope of Boiler Section are executed in accordance to maintenance procedure and by the most cost efficient means.
- Assist Maintenance Head (Mechanical) to meet the contractual, technical and commercial target of the Power Plant.
- Ensure Boiler Maintenance Section records are available in Maintenance Management System.
- Liaison with other Sections during coordination of maintenance activities, if applicable.
- Liaise with external parties to ensure maintenance activities are supported with the correct tools, equipment’s, resources and procedures.
- Solve recurring and outstanding problems related to the plant systems or equipments; in order to improve plant performance.
- Provide maintenance engineering supports, solutions and execution, in order to improve plant performance.
- Develop and approve preventive and predictive maintenance task list and maintenance schedule, in order to maintain equipment integrity.
- Approve Boiler Maintenance Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment & Control Measure (HIRAC), Work Instructions and Work Procedures.

- To be on standby duty for the Plant.
Requirements:
- Bachelor degree from a recognized Indonesian or foreign in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 8 to 15 years’ experience in a Large Thermal Power Plant.
- Substantial knowledge of engineering practices, functions and processes involved in the operation of modern Power Stations.
- Good understanding on maintenance management concepts and practices.
- Able to identify and analyse faults and problems relating to the plant.
- Good knowledge on commercial processes, CMMS and budgeting experience.
- Good leadership and decision making skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Have sufficient knowledge on Health, Safety and Environmental legislation.
- Have sufficient knowledge on typical legislation associated with Power Plant Operations.
O&M - TURBINE MAINTENANCE MANAGER
Responsibilities:

O&M - Mechanical Engineer (Turbine or Boiler)
Responsibilities:
- Take charge of equipment management of all mechanical equipment, including turbine and boiler under the leadership of Turbine or Boiler Manager.
- Master the equipment operations, installation, commissioning, maintenance (based on OEM recommendation and system/equipment condition monitoring results).
- Lay down the annual maintenance schedule of turbine and boiler, as well as the annual technical measures.
- Provide the quality standard of equipment maintenance, installation and commissioning of turbine and boiler.
- Organize the quality assurance and work acceptance protocols of professional maintenance, overhauls and project modification, and recommends improvements.
- To be in charge of spare parts planning/purchasing of all mechanical equipment, including turbine and boiler equipment’s
Requirements:
- Bachelor degree from a recognized Indonesian or foreign in Mechanical Engineering
- Able to communicate effectively in English
- Relevant working experience of more than five (5) years, responsible and hardworking.
- Familiar with coal fired power plant operations and maintenance and overhauls.
- Able to work independently
O&M - Control Room Operators
Responsibilities:
- Report to Shift Charge Engineer.
- In charge of operations during normal conditions and emergency situations as per operating procedures of all systems.
- Monitor operation parameters.
- Report any defect found during operations.
- Maintain operations log-book.
- As the primary principal personnel for safety, production and efficient operations,
- Organize work including start-ups, shutdowns, supervision, maintenance, modifications, outages and abnormal operations of all equipment.
- Patrol and inspect the equipment and systems. Take responsibility for equipment defect management, and timely defect correction actions.
- Comply the principle of ’safety first’ and strictly enforce the permit-to-work system.
- To participate in operations measures such as outages, incident handling and maintenance etc.
Requirements:
- University graduate
- Able to communicate effectively in English,
- Relevant working experience of more than five (5) years, responsible and hardworking.
- Familiar with coal fired power plant operations and maintenance and overhauls.
